Billings Estate National Historic Site Vilnis Cultural Design Works conducted content research, using primary and secondary documentation and collection resources, to create a conceptual design aimed to transform the interior of Ottawa's oldest frame house, into an interactive exhibition based on the story of the Billings family, one of the city's influential founding families, while highlighting the architecture features of this unique historic building. Highlights include a multimedia presentation of the family's influence on the development of the Billings Bridge community, the urban area bearing the family's name, a variety of engaging activities, such as constructing a "timber crib" model, for visitors of all ages, and outstanding objects from the museums collection.
