Growing up in Guelph Children's Museum

In 2000, Vilnis Cultural Design Works created the "Growing Up In Guelph Children's Museum" at the Guelph Civic Museum. Working in collaboration with Museum staff, Vilnis Cultural Design Works was responsible for conducting focus groups with Guelph school children, content research, interpretive planning, copy writing, three dimensional and graphic design, and fabrication and installation of this project.

The Children's Museum was designed and built to replicate Guelph's natural and built environment. It included a puppet theatre stage in a tree, limestone walls and a bridge, historic children telling their life stories, and a multi-media, visitor-operated "Tell Your Own Story" area in a 19th century streetcar!
